Changes to your business

It is important to keep your details up to date with PrimeSafe. Where there will be a change to your business, please advise PrimeSafe immediately via the PrimeSafe Licensee Portal or by email or letter.

My business ownership is changing

My business is changing ownership

PrimeSafe licences cannot be transferred from one licensee to another. Where your business has been bought by another entity, you will need to request cancellation of your licence. The new owner of the business will need to submit a new licence application.

My business is changing partners

Where an existing partner leaves the business, a new licence is not required. However, a new licence is required where a new partner is introduced to the business.

My business is in administration, receivership or liquidation

Where an administrator, receiver or liquidator has been appointed to your business, please provide PrimeSafe with their contact details.

My business operations are changing

My facility operator is changing

Where there has been a change of operator at your facility, please provide the new operator’s name and contact details.

My business has moved to a new location

PrimeSafe licences cannot be transferred from one location to another. Where your business moves to a new location, you will need to submit a new licence application. You will also need to provide a written request for cancellation of your licence for the previous facility.

Where your PrimeSafe licensed Seafood Retailer (Van) business will be operating at a new or additional location, you will need to advise PrimeSafe to approve the new or additional location. 

My annual throughput is changing

You will need to advise PrimeSafe in writing where there has been an increase to the throughput at your facility. The fee payable will be recalculated in accordance with the fee schedule and a pro-rata payment may be required.

My business activities are changing

You will need to advise PrimeSafe in writing where there has been a change in activities, as processes including smallgoods and ready-to-eat meats require PrimeSafe approval before they can be produced at the facility. The fee payable will be recalculated in accordance with the fee schedule and a pro-rata payment may be required.

My third party auditor is changing

Any change of third party auditor must first be approved by PrimeSafe. A written request to change third party auditor must be provided prior to engaging the services of a new third party auditor. Requests to change third party auditor can only be approved where there are no outstanding corrective action requests at your facility.

My facility will be ceasing operations

You will need to provide a written request for cancellation of your licence. You may be entitled to a pro-rata refund of unused licence fees following confirmation that the facility has ceased operating. A pro-rata refund is not available for those who request cancellation of their licence in the last month of the licence period (June or December).

Refunds can only be paid directly into a business bank account. We cannot process refunds back to your Credit Card accounts. You will need to provide your business bank account details (account name, BSB and account number) should you wish to receive your refund directly into your nominated bank account.

My meat transport vehicle is changing

I have sold my PrimeSafe licensed meat transport vehicle

PrimeSafe licences cannot be transferred from one licensee to another. Where your PrimeSafe licensed meat transport vehicle has been bought by another entity, you will need to request cancellation of your licence and remove the sticker from your vehicle. A refund will not be provided. The new owner of the vehicle will need to submit a new licence application to PrimeSafe.

I have changed the vehicle registration of my PrimeSafe licensed meat transport vehicle

Where the registration of a vehicle has changed (i.e. personalised number plates), a new licence is not required provided the vehicle has not changed. Evidence confirming that the vehicle has not changed must be provided otherwise a new licence will be required. You will need to provide PrimeSafe with a copy of vehicle registration documentation from the relevant Roads Authority showing the old vehicle registration and new registration with proof of identical Vehicle Idenitifcation Number (VIN) on both documents.

My meat transport vehicle has been written off

You will need to request written cancellation of your licence. A refund will not be provided.

I have other details changing

You will need to advise PrimeSafe in writing if any other details are changing if they affect your licence and how we communicate with you. These include your contact details, your postal address, your Victorian Fisheries Authority licences and vessels identification.
