Australian Meat Industry Council
The Australian Meat Industry Council (AMIC) is the peak council that represents retailers, processors, exporters and smallgoods manufacturers in the post-farm-gate meat industry.
Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) is a producer-owned company, working in partnership with industry and government to achieve a profitable and sustainable red meat and livestock (cattle, sheep and goats) industry in Australia.
Seafood Industry Victoria is a non-profit organisation whose members are involved in the harvesting, processing, wholesaling, retailing and exporting of seafood in Victoria, and is the peak body for the commercial fishing industry. The organisation liaises with State Government, media, environmental groups and other marine stakeholders on behalf of its members’ best interests.

Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions
The Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (DJPR) was established on 1 January 2019 to ensure Victoria's strong economic performance by growing industries and regions.
- Kangaroo Harvesting Program
- The Kangaroo Harvesting Program (KHP) began in Victoria on 1 October 2019 to enable commercial harvesting of kangaroos for pet food in Victoria. Harvesting of kangaroos for human consumption remains prohibited in Victoria.
Department of Health and Human Services (Food Safety)
The Department of Health and Human Services has general oversight of the administration of the Food Act 1984 (Vic). The Act provides the regulatory framework for the food industry to ensure that food sold in Victoria is safe, suitable and correctly labelled. The department also responds to food incidents and emergencies, and coordinates a response when more than one municipality is involved.

Foods Standards Australia New Zealand
Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) is a bi-national government agency and is responsible for developing and administering Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
JAS-ANZ is the government-appointed accreditation body for Australia and New Zealand responsible for providing accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in the fields of certification and inspection. Accreditation by JAS-ANZ demonstrates the competence and independence of these conformity assessment bodies.
